The Style Stakes at Greenwood

As one of the most fashionable events of the spring, Greenwood Stakes is about stepping up your style game. Each year, the attendees vying for the Style Stakes push the fashion envelope in dressing to impress.
The Style Stakes Best Dressed Awards will announce the best dressed woman and man at Greenwood Stakes
Roaming the event, celebrity fashion industry judges will choose 10 finalists (five women and five men) from the crowd. These well-heeled individuals will be brought before the crowd of 1,500 on the Main Stage to flaunt their looks. The most stylish lady and most dapper gentleman at Greenwood Stakes, as chosen by the judges, will be awarded the coveted Belle Du Jour and Gallant Sartorialist awards, respectively.
The Belle Du Jour and The Gallant Sartorialist winners will each receive a $500 cash prize. They will also become the Greenwood Stakes Style Ambassadors for the following year.
2019 Style Stakes Director - Eliza Grossman
Eliza Grossman, Fashion Editor at FASHION Magazine.
As the Fashion Editor at FASHION Magazine, Eliza Grossman, an award-winning stylist, oversees the fashion direction of the publication. She recently styled the magazine's Summer 2019 cover shoot in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Prior to working at FASHION, Eliza completed internships at O, The Oprah Magazine and Vogue, and has assisted stylists Nicola Formichetti and Jenny Capitain. She holds an Honours B.A. in Art History from Queen's University as well as a degree in Fashion Marketing from Parsons The New School.
From an Industrial Engineering degree and being the former In-Arena Host for the Toronto Maple Leafs to winning Miss Universe Canada 2017 and placing in the Top 10 at Miss Universe, Lauren has a mix of backgrounds.
Currently, Lauren works for Stagwell Technologies, is a correspondent for Breakfast Television and Cityline and is producing a documentary and YouTube series. This year, she was the fashion correspondent for the national broadcast of the 2019 Grammy Awards Red Carpet show on CityTV.
Having a keen interest in the intersecting worlds of sports, STEM and style, she has started to spend more time behind the scenes from the design stand point and will be releasing a jewelry collaboration with NOGU later in 2019.
Lowell Hall has been organizing and managing brand marketing and public relations campaigns across several international markets for over 22 years. He has worked with significant clients like Home Depot, Nike, Coca-Cola, Italpasta, Nascar, and many others in sectors like family and children entertainment, broadcasting, consumer products, finance, and business development. He has received three municipal awards for community investment in PR programs in Boston, San Francisco, and Abu Dhabi. Lowell has also gained a significant amount of PR knowledge from his extensive experiences across the world in the USA, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Rwanda, and India.
Gotstyle was founded in 2005 by Melissa Austria a menswear industry veteran.
Feeling that Toronto was lacking options when it came to menswear stores she developed the lifestyle concept store Gotstyle. Elise began putting together over the top outfits as a child and then crying when adults would try to take her photo. She continued experimenting with how to dress until she moved to Bangkok at 18 where she discovered a whole new world of next level Asian fashion. Inspired by what was around her, Elise decided to channel her creative energy into something productive and that’s when she started, A Piece of Elise, a fun-loving fashion blog to which everyone is invited. Chris Zownir is a former Toronto Bay Street banker who decided to delve into fashion after realizing the lack of creativity in office wear. He entered the corporate world as a commodities trader, and then decided to nurture his creative side and started the men’s fashion accessories brand, Cuffwear Inc. Chris has always incorporated his playfulness and charm into his own personal wardrobe and wanted to help other professionals do the same.
Chris recently developed the world’s first cufflink vending machine for major US airports and his Cuffwear brand continues to expand in the retail, corporate and US Collegiate markets.
Kassius Denizen aka Mr Kaizen, is a recognized expert in the men’s lifestyle industry. He is a certified Life and Executive coach, image consultant and trained tailor. As the former fashion editor for Chrome Magazine, and current lifestyle correspondent to Swaggermagazine.com and ViewtheVIBE.com. Denizen provides speaking engagements on two cable TV shows and other speaking events. Through his years of experience in the men’s lifestyle industry, Denizen has built a men’s clothing brand, Mr. Kaizen. Its philosophy – “Elevate Your Style of Life.”
Internationally Acclaimed Milliner and Style Icon Jay Cheng, Founder of Jaycow Millinery is known both for her playful innovation and her meticulous craftsmanship. Since beginning her career in Fashion and Design in Hong Kong over 25 years ago, Jay has produced countless editorials and runway shows, executed a wide range of costume, wardrobe, and styling for film, television, print, commercial, and live performances.
Her international clientele include private hat-lovers, brides, costume designers, and renowned celebrities. Drawing on her background as a Creative Producer, Jay has an instinct for bringing out the unique personality, flair and poetics of an individual through her Millinery creations.
